Free Touchup Teeth Whitening Kit: Prolong the Results at Home
When people have teeth that are stained or discolored, professional teeth whitening treatment is an ideal option to consider. Thanks to advanced teeth whitening treatments, patients who come to our Austin, TX cosmetic dentistry center experience brighter and whiter smiles.
One teeth whitening treatment isn’t going to do the trick forever, though. With this in mind, let’s consider how long teeth whitening results last and why touchup bleaching is so important.
How Effective Is In-Office Teeth Whitening?
In-office teeth whitening is the most effective way to get your smile looking its brightest. Thanks to the professional-grade bleaching agents used during in-office whitening, patients can have their smiles brightened by several shades.
Why Touchup Teeth Whitening Is Necessary
While teeth whitening treatment is highly effective, it’s not permanent. Eventually the teeth will wind up becoming discolored again as a natural result of eating, drinking, and the aging process.
In order to keep your smile looking its whitest, touchup whitening treatment is recommended. This helps prolong the results of whitening treatment, and prevents minor discoloration from becoming full-blown unsightly stains.
Free Whitening Gel with Regular Dental Visit
Because regular maintenance is so important to teeth whitening results, we are proud to offer our patients a means of touching up their smile. This is the Whitening for Life program.
Every 6 months, a person should visit their dentist for a routine checkup. With each routine dental visit, we’ll give patients a tube of whitening gel absolutely free. This gel can help get rid of surface stains and keep your smile looking bright and white for the next few months to come.
Use the Touchup Whitening Gel as Directed
A single tube of whitening gel should be enough for touchup care for the next 6 months between visits. To ensure patients do not suffer serious tooth sensitivity or adverse side effects, we provide directions for use and proper touchup care. Be sure to follow these instructions closely for the best results.
Practice Good Oral Hygiene
Touchup care with whitening gel is just part of the approach to keeping your smile looking bright and white. Patients should continue to brush and floss regularly. Brush your teeth at least twice a day, and floss once a night. Ideally, you’ll want to brush and floss after every meal.
Not only does good oral hygiene prevent cavities and toot decay, it removes substances that cause stains and provides a nice supplement to touchup whitening care.
Avoid the Following Items That Cause Dental Stains
In order to avoid tooth discoloration and stains after teeth whitening, be sure to avoid using tobacco products. Smoking and chewing tobacco causes major stains and also has terrible effects on your general health.
Be sure to use a drinking straw or to be mindful of staining when drinking the following beverages:
- Coffee
- Tea
- Colas
- Red wine
- Beer
- Fruit juices
Also note that the following food items can lead to tooth discoloration over time:
- Tomatoes
- Curries
- Carrots
- Beets
- Blueberries
- Popsicles
- Soy sauce
To avoid stains from foods and beverages, drink water to clean out your mouth and brush your teeth roughly 30 minutes after a meal.
